Hey guys.
In case any of you are wondering what blackjack in Canada is like, here is a brief overview of the games. Canada is a pretty appealing overseas location to count cards, since it is extremely safe, has a fairly solid legal system, there are lots of casinos, and it is integrated fairly well economically with the United States.
Blackjack conditions aren't quite as good in Canada as in the USA, but it can still be worth checking out.
Ontario :
Ontario is Canada's most populous province, and the second largest by land mass after Quebec. Formerly, most of the casinos were operated by a government monopoly known as the OLG, however they have been undergoing a process of privatization over the last two decades as the OLG transitioned to a regulatory regime instead.
Even under the old days of the OLG, there were three resort casinos in Canada that were privately owned and operated.
Ontario has a lot of casinos. The games are not great, but not bad. 8 deck with 2 cut off, S17, DAS, DA2 games are common. Six deck S17 in high limit. You can find some six deck H17 now also. Spanish 21 is also available. Windsor has 8 deck H17 but at least they allow RSA.
Quebec :
Quebec is interesting in that they cannot ban card counters. Games are H17 8 deckers on the main floor and S17 6 deckers in high limit.
New Brunswick :
6 deck h17, das, da2, LS10, hide
Amazing penetration
PEI :
All CSM at Shorelines
Nova Scotia :
CSM on the main floor, 2 deck NDAS and a 6 deck H17 game in high limit. This info is SUPER dated.
Manitoba :
H17, das, da2 6 deck
2 deck D9, das2, h17, 1 deck cut
Saskatchewan :
H17, das, da2 6 deck
Saskatoon had a double deck game but they literally only dealt half a deck it was absurd
Alberta :
6 deck, H17, DAS, DA2, ES10
some 8 deckers now
some games no ES10
The ES10 rule is huge.
BC :
Lots of double deck, H17, DAS, DA2. But 1 deck cut.
Some shoe games. H17 das da2. Hard Rock had a shoe game where you weren't allowed to insure and late surrender.
